Sail Away in Style: A Cruise Wardrobe Guide for You and Your Little One

Ahoy Babes, Fashionistas and Fellow moms! If you're gearing up for a fabulous cruise vacation with your baby by your side, you're in for a treat. Cruises are the perfect opportunity to relax, unwind, and of course, showcase your flawless style even though most will be in bathing suits and wouldn’t really care what you wear but might as well show it. In my blog post, we're going to be diving into the essentials you need to pack for a smooth sailing fashion journey for both you and your precious little one.

Mom's Cruise Capsule Wardrobe:

Cruise-Chic Dresses: Pack a few versatile dresses that can easily transition from day to night. A sundress for exploring the ports and a stylish maxi dress for evening dinners on the ship are must-haves.

Mix-and-Match Separates: Create multiple looks with a few mix-and-match pieces like shorts, skirts, and blouses. This way, you can effortlessly switch up your outfits without overpacking.

Stylish Swimwear: Don't forget to pack that fabulous bathing suit! Whether you prefer a classic one-piece or a trendy bikini, make a splash in style by choosing a design that complements your body and makes you feel confident. For me, neon colors bring out the best for my skin tone, so mixing it with a suit that fit me so comfortably made my whole day easier for me and made me feel fabulous.

Comfortable Footwear: Opt for comfortable yet stylish footwear. A pair of sandals for daytime excursions, wedges for evening events, and sneakers for more active pursuits will cover all your bases. Especially when you’re on the go most of the time with your kid, you definitely need a comfortable shoe to make it through the day especially if it's a sea day or you’re out on excursions.

Elegant Evening Attire: Pack a chic evening outfit for formal dinners on the cruise. A flowy jumpsuit or a cocktail dress paired with statement accessories will have you looking glamorous. As for me though, I had to stand out, due to the fact that I purchase the most cutest Bridgerton themed dress from 2nd Time Around, matched with a laced corset belt, high heel ballet shoes, ivory bow all from Amazon, and a pearl necklace from Common Threads Thrift Store. Got so many compliments for my whole ensemble and just strutted every step of the way that night.

Sun Protection: Shield yourself from the sun with a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and a high SPF sunscreen. These accessories not only add a touch of glamour but also keep you protected during those sunny days at sea or for a beautiful day at Coco Cay.

Baby's Cruise Wardrobe:

Adorable Onesies and Rompers: Keep your little one cute and comfortable with onesies and rompers. Opt for breathable fabrics to ensure they stay cool during the warmer days. It's an easier slip/change  too if they get wet from the water or like my daughter, eats an ice cream cone from the bottom.

Sun Hats and Baby Sunglasses: Protect your baby's delicate skin with a sun hat and baby-friendly sunglasses. Bonus: they'll look absolutely adorable in their mini accessories! Fun Fact: Highly recommend getting those sunglasses with the straps in the back in order to keep them from falling off their face, because these kids just love taking them and throwing them wherever they please.

Swim Diapers and Baby Swimwear: If your cruise includes pool or beach time, pack a couple of swim diapers and a cute baby swimsuit. Capture those precious moments of your baby's first dip in the ocean or pool. But also consider the weather and the baby’s core temp, bring long sleeve suits for when they get too cold in the water the wet suit will keep them from freezing up. A.k.a my daughter in a full on bikini and left early in the day because she got so cold that she couldn’t enjoy the water anymore.

Lightweight Layers: Bring along some lightweight layers for cooler evenings or air-conditioned spaces on the ship. A cozy cardigan or a soft hoodie will keep your baby snug.

Comfortable Shoes: If your little one is walking, pack comfortable shoes for them. Soft-soled shoes are ideal for protecting tiny feet while exploring. Also flip flops with straps help and also beach shoes for those tiny feet so they won’t step on some sharp shells or stones in the beach.

Diaper Bag Essentials: Don't forget the diaper bag stocked with baby wipes, diapers, bottles, and any other necessities. A stylish and spacious diaper bag can double as a fashionable accessory for you. Fun Fact: There’s no such thing as overpacking diapers! You NEVER know if you’ll run out or not.

Remember, the key to stress-free cruising is packing smart. Stick to the essentials, mix and match, and focus on creating memorable moments with your little one. Bon voyage and sail away in style, fabulous moms!
