Attending the State of Michigan Fashion Panel 2026: Detroit’s Creative Momentum on Full Display
Hey babes!!! I’m back! ♥️ I know you missed me! For my first piece (yes, we’re starting fresh), I’m spotlighting some incredible talent and sharing insights I picked up from a fashion panel I attended a few weeks ago. So hi, hello, and welcome back!
Attending the State of Michigan Fashion Panel 2026 was an inspiring reminder of why Detroit continues to stand out as a city rooted in creativity, resilience, and innovation. The panel brought together designers, educators, and fashion leaders who are actively shaping the future of fashion in Michigan, especially within Detroit’s growing design ecosystem.
What stood out most was how informative and intentional the conversation was. From early-stage design to fashion development, sustainability, and community impact, the discussion highlighted how Detroit is building a fashion industry that is both creative and conscious. This wasn’t just about trends, it was about infrastructure, education, and long-term growth within the city.

Each speaker brought a unique and valuable perspective, whether it was fashion education, sustainable practices, or building systems that support designers locally. A recurring theme throughout the panel was collaboration: designers working with educators, organizations partnering with the city, and creatives uplifting one another rather than competing.
As someone deeply invested in fashion, media, and community driven creativity, it was refreshing to hear such honest conversations about the realities of building a fashion career in Detroit, and the solutions being actively created. Detroit isn’t just participating in fashion; it’s defining its own lane.
Leaving the panel, I felt both informed and inspired. Michigan’s fashion future is bright, and Detroit is undeniably leading the way. ✨
